Narrabeen is a small coastal town hidden amongst the sprawling outskirts of Sydneys Northern beaches. The spot is popular for it’s surfing and swimming beaches – the perfect spot to get away! You’ll find the golden sands of Narrabeen roughly 50 Minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Northern Sydney and a 2 hour 30 minute drive from Newcastle.
History
Narrabeen is the ancestral home to the Kuring-gai people. It is widely thought that Narrabeen gets its name from “Narrow Beans” – a tall thin vine growing over sand in the area, which early settlers found and ate. In actual fact – Narrabeen was the Aboriginal name for the stream that forms the outlet of the lagoon.

Leanne’s tips
✅ You can just park the car at the caravan park and almost walk everywhere locally.
✅ The caravan parks often have a pizza food truck for a nice and easy dinner.
✅ The beach and the pool at the beach are so accessible
✅ There are many nice cafes and fish and chip shops within walking distance of the park
✅ Often they have markets on just near the caravan park
✅ Easter is a great time to visit the park, as it is a commute to Sydney CBD or the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
✅ Being a coastal town, it can get quite windy – I recommend to grab an Anti-Flap Kit to protect your awning
