An axle service includes inspection and maintenance of the wheels and tyres, brakes, chassis and suspension components. You need to service your caravan every 10,000 km or at least once a year—whichever comes first.

Wheels and tyres are checked for tread wear, rims are inspected for dents, tyre pressure is checked, including the spare tyre, and wheel nuts are tightened to the correct torque. The brakes are inspected by checking handbrake travel, checking and adjusting the brakes, inspecting the brake linings and adjusting them if required, inspecting magnets for uneven wear, cleaning components, and inspecting and re-greasing the bearings. The chassis and suspension are also checked by ensuring coupling bolts are tightened, checking the operation of corner steadies, checking and lubricating suspension mounts, confirming U-bolt nuts are tightened to the correct torque, inspecting chassis welds for fracturing or rust, and checking safety chains, D-shackles, the jockey wheel and its bearing.

Optional extras include servicing the hot water system (including changing the anode), diesel heater checks, and pink slips.
