    Product Details

The size refers to the height of the window (to make this even harder the window size is the actual cut out size in the wall not the actual window blade measurement).

The Seitz brand is owned by the Dometic group, and have proved to be very popular in Europe for many years.

Although the hatches have been available in Australia since the early 2000's, the window have recently started gaining ownership traction within Australia not only on imported UK and European caravans but also with the local caravan manufacturing sector.

Currently Dometic Australia import and support two types of Seitz windows, the S4 and S7P, however this is a less extensive range than offered in other foreign markets.

It is important to realise that CaravansPlus can only supply window types, sizes and spares for the range imported into Australia by Dometic Australia Pty. Ltd.

    How to Identify Seitz Windows

In recent years there has been a large increase of Caravans being products with Maygood / Mobicool windows. These windows are nearly identical to the Dometic Seitz S4 however the parts are not interchangeable. The number one customer error we see is incorrectly identifying or assuming they have a Seitz window.

There are 2 easy ways to establish which type of window you have by checking either your existing blade/glazing or your internal blind (S4).

    1) Check the top right hand corner of your window blade (when looking from the outside). In some light it may be hard to see but it will say either MOBICOOL or SEITZ / DOMETIC ( Seitz windows are now being branded as Dometic to bring in line with their new marketing campaign)

    2) Check your internal blind, or more importantly the clips that connect the blind to flyscreen. The Mobicool will have black clips which a clearly branded, while the Seitz have light grey clips.

    Identifying S4, S4 Dlux & S7P

Identifying Your Seitz Caravan Windows is quite easy. You will see the major physical differences below. They include squared edges on the window 'blade' on the S4's, and rounded on S7P's.

In 2019 the S4 windows were superseded by the newer S4 Dlux. The Dlux windows are very similar to the original S4 windows however feature a flat acrylic panel rather than the original raised profile glazing. The range was also reduced to black frame only.

    Determining Window Size

Put the tape measure away! You will find the inscribed numbers on the outside top right hand corner of the window 'blade'. This is the safest way to determine window size and it will also confirm you have a Dometic window.

The numbers we are most interested are highlighted below with red. Simple deciphering will show the size.

For S4 windows you will see a number like AGS50700X0300

Remove the prefix AGS5 and you have 0700X0300 - indicating you have a 700x300 window.

S4 Dlux windows will have either MD1 or MDL prefix. Following the same procedure as above you simply remove the prefix to find you window size.

e.g If your sticker has code MDL0900X0450

Remove MDL and you have 0900X0450 - indicating a 900x450 window

If you no longer have the blade you will need measure the outer frame. As with all caravan windows and doors the size is determined by the cut-out size they fit into, the overall dimensions of the outer frames are 45mm wider & 30mm higher.

For example the overall measurements of the outer frame for a 700x300 will be 745mm x 330mm.

For S7P Windows you will see a number like AGP70500X0400040

    Measuring S7 Windows width=

Remove the prefix AGP7 & the suffix 040 and you have 0500X0400 - indicating you have a 500x400 window.

If you no longer have the blade you will need to measure the outer frame, the overall dimensions of the outer frame are 28mm larger than the window size. For example a 500x400 window will measure 528mm x 428mm.

For all S4, S4 Dlux and S7P, window stays are offered as measurement, ie 250mm, 300mm, 400mm etc.

If you have identified your window as per the example above as being 700mm x 300mm, then you will need to order the 300mm stay appropriate to your window type; either S4, S4 Dlux or S7P.

For everything else you will need to work with the full two numbers. This will prove to be straight forward when identifying the correct components.
